FAQs

Q1) Where is the admission form of the school available?

A1) General Category:

The form can either be collected from the school during the operating hours or could be downloaded from the school website as well (if available). Some schools also give the functionality to submit the form online. Further, as per govt’s mandate, each school shall ensure that application form is made available to all the applicants for collection till the last date of submission.

So basically it can be categorized in 3 ways:

  1. Online Availability with Online Submission: Schools are gradually shifting to this process. The form can be filled up online on the school’s website along with online submission of documents & the parent does not need to submit any hardcopy in the schools for registration.
  2. Online Availability with Offline Submission: Majority of the schools in Delhi follow this process. The form can be filled up online on the school’s website (or downloaded and filled manually) but the parent needs to submit the hard copy of the form along with supporting documents in the schools before the last date of registration.
  3. Offline Availability with Offline Submission: Some schools still follow this process, where you as a parent need to collect the form from the school in their operating hours, fill it up & then submit it again to the school by visiting physically. Some schools like Bal Bharati Public School give an application number to the parents once they visit the school. The parent then needs to enter this application number on the school’s website to start the online registration.

You can escape from all these hassles by filling a single admission form for all the schools you want to apply for by visiting www.schoolling.com

EWS/DG Category:

The Directorate of Education (DOE) has developed a Common Registration Form for admission under EWS & Disadvantaged Category and it shall be available on www.edudel.nic.in. All the private unaided schools of Delhi are instructed to also provide the printed version of this common admission form to the EWS/DG parents in case they want to collect it from the school reception absolutely free of cost.  All such schools must use the said format only by downloading the form from the govt’s website. Parents may also download the same from the above-mentioned website. Click Here to download the common admission form for EWS/DG Category.

Q2) What is the cost of the form?

A2) General Category:

The cost of the form is Rs.25 & the purchase of brochure/prospectus is non-mandatory.

EWS/DG Category:

The form shall be made available free to the parents belonging to the EWS/DG category by the private unaided schools of Delhi. Otherwise, they can also fill the common admission form for free on edudel.nic.in.

Q3) I have heard that there are very long queues at the time of admissions?

A3) Yes you heard correctly. After clearing the first step of shortlisting schools, the parents encounter a very big issue of standing in queues for hours, once to collect the admission form & then again to submit the form in the school. The problem magnifies when the parent is applying for multiple schools. Each school has its own form distribution & collection process, timing & location. According to one of the Surveys conducted by Schoolling Pvt Ltd, we found out that a parent spends an average 17L of petrol & 36 Hours in visiting schools.

Save yourself from this hassle by registering yourself at www.schoolling.com where you can apply to multiple schools, without ever visiting them for registrations.

Q4) Is the admission form cost refundable?

A4) No the admission form cost is non-refundable for the General Category parents, once purchased. The form shall be made available free to the parents belonging to the EWS/DG category. In case admission is canceled due to non-submission of original documents by due date or if the document produced at the time of registration is found to be false or wrong, the full amount of the registration fee shall be refunded to the parents.

Q5) Do we need to go & submit the copy of the application form to all the schools, after successful submission of the online application form?

A5) General Category:

Here we are talking only about the case when you are filling the admission form for a school which provides a functionality to fill the form online. For the parents applying through the General Category, there could be three possibilities in such a case:

  1. The school might ask you to take a print out of the final submitted form & deposit it to the school along with supporting documents. Eg: Montfort Senior Secondary School in Ashok Vihar.
  2. The school might not demand submission of the form in the school. Eg: Delhi Public School Mathura Road.
  3. You have applied through www.schoolling.com: The process of applying through us saves you from any sort of hassles of visiting the schools for registrations. Once you submit a form through Schoolling, you don’t need to visit the schools. Our team does that for you.

EWS/DG Category:

The parents who use the govt’s website www.edudel.nic.in for applying centrally to all the nearby schools need not go to the schools to submit the hard copy. They need to visit the schools only at the time of draw of lots & admission. The parents who had collected the common admission form from the schools need to physically visit & deposit the form along with the supporting documents within the admission timelines defined

Q6) How would I know in which schools I have applied? Will I have a choice of schools after registration?

A6) EWS/DG Category: This question is specific to the EWS/DG category parents applying online at edudel.nic.in. After the applicant completes registration on edudel.nic.in, he has to fill the application form. In the application form, the applicant has to select & give priority to the schools in different distance ranges. Once the complete form is filled & submitted, the details of all the information including the schools opted by the applicant shall be displayed on the screen. The applicant can take out printout for future references.

Q7) Do the schools give any receipt on collection & submission of the registration form?

A7) All the private unaided schools shall acknowledge the distribution & acceptance of the admission form through a receipt along with assigning each application a unique registration number. The Registration-Slip shall also indicate the date(s) of display of the list of eligible candidates for the draw, date(s) of the draw, date(s) of display of the list of successful candidates including waiting list. The parents belonging to the EWS/DG category can also apply online to their preferred private unaided schools through edudel.nic.in although no school can object them to collect & submit the admission form from the school (Registration form is free of cost for EWS/DG category). The parents belonging to the General Category can apply to multiple schools by filling a single application form through www.schoolling.com.

Q8) Can the schools demand the original documents duly attested by gazetted officers at the time of registration?

A8) The government has strictly stated that that the schools cannot ask for submission of the original document at the time of registration. Parents need to submit only self-attested copies of the documents/ certificates. But the parents must produce the original documents at the time of admissions if selected. The schools might also cancel the admission of the child if the documents produced at the time of registration are found to be false/ do no match the original documents.

Q9) Can one change / modify the information after submitting the application?

A9) General Category:

If the parents are applying offline/online to a school on their own & feel that the admission form needed some changes after their submission, the schools usually do not allow the parents to rectify that information.
If the general category parents are applying through schoolling.com, we allow parents to make amendments within 3 hours post submission by dropping an email to contact@schoolling.com.

EWS/DG Category:

Yes. The parents using the govt. portal edudel.nic.in can delete the existing application form and after successfully deleting the existing application, fill the form afresh. Please note here that after deletion, your existing registration number stands invalid for the admission process.
